5-Year-Old Falls Into Borewell In Rajasthan, Rescue Operation Underway

A large-scale rescue operation is ongoing in Rajasthan’s Dausa district after a five-year-old boy fell into an open borewell. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon in Kalikhad village when the child, Aryan Meena, was accompanying his mother to a nearby field.

Aryan is believed to be trapped approximately 150 feet below the surface, officials said. Oxygen is being supplied to him through a pipe, and a camera has been inserted into the borewell to monitor his condition.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is leading the rescue operation, and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has also been called in to assist.

Local authorities, including Dausa District Collector Devendra Kumar and MLA Deendayal Berwa, are also at the scene along with police to oversee the rescue efforts.

Teams are working simultaneously on two approaches: digging a parallel pit to safely reach the child and attempting a direct rescue from the borewell itself, officials said.

“Rescue operation has been carried out for the whole night. NDRF-SDRF teams are working here. Our priority is to rescue the child safely as quickly as possible,” Dausa District Collector Devendra Kumar said.

Villagers were seen gathered at the site, anxiously awaiting updates on the boy’s condition.
