Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar box office collection Day 10: Luv Ranjan’s rom-com grosses Rs 109.15 crores
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar box office collection Day 10: Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer slows down amid four new releases this week.
The Luv Ranjan directorial Tu Jhoothi Mai Makkaar had an impressive opening at the box office and now, in its second week, the film is on the cusp of entering the Rs 100 crore club. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has made Rs 95.88 crore nett on the box office. The gross box office collection stands at Rs 109.15 crore. On Day 10, the film made Rs 3.37 crore.
The box office collection on its first Monday dropped by more than 50%, after the film had been consistently minting double digit figures over the first five days. The film released on Wednesday which was a holiday for the festival of Holi and got an extended first weekend at the theatres. However, the film will now face competition from four new films that were released this week – Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, Zwigato, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods and Kabzaa.
Pathaan and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar come as a relief to Bollywood, as movies like Akshay Kumar’s Selfiee and Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada failed to draw audiences. Tu Jhoothi Mai Makkar also stars Anubhav Singh Bassi, Dimple Kapadia and Boney Kapoor in pivotal roles.
The Indian Express’ Shubhra Gupta gave Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar 1.5 stars. A part of the review read, “Luv Ranjan’s latest Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar is basically every Luv Ranjan film till now: the guys, they’re the best, the gals, well, they gotta learn their lesson. I suppose if TJMM was silly and fun, it would still have been fine. I’m always in the market for silly. But this kind of movie has no business being so boring, and that’s its biggest sin.”
