Jawan prevue: Shah Rukh Khan turns vigilante with army of girls, says ‘no hero stands a chance when I turn a villain’
Jawan prevue: The mass actioner marks the first collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and filmmaker Atlee, known for Tamil hits with Vijay like Theri, Mersal and Bigil.
No one can have enough of Shah Rukh Khan, so the superstar is back on screen again, with Jawan. The prevue of the actor’s latest mass actioner dropped on Monday and it promises to be a big scale entertainer.
Jawan marks the first collaboration between Shah Rukh and filmmaker Atlee, known for Tamil hits with Vijay like Theri, Mersal and Bigil. The film stars SRK in a double role and also features an ensemble led by Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra and Sunil Grover among others.
The prevue glimpses the world of Jawan– showcasing several looks of Shah Rukh Khan, including–for the first time ever–his bald look. The 2 min promo packs punches, as it shows Shah Rukh in all his glory, packaged in a typical Atlee style flamboyant cinema.
Jawan, which will mark Shah Rukh Khan’s second release this year after Pathaan, also features actor Deepika Padukone in a cameo. This will be their second on-screen appearance of the year after the Yash Raj Films spy actioner. Jawan, releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, will also see actor Sanjay Dutt in a special appearance.
Ever since its announcement last year, Jawan has been one of the most awaited films of the year. Its anticipation doubled after Shah Rukh delivered historic numbers with Pathaan, which re-wrote every box office record. Initially scheduled to release on June 2, the film was pushed due to its pending post-production work.
Backed by Red Chillies Entertainment, the movie has been written and directed by Atlee, with Hindi dialogues penned by Sumit Purohit.
