Delhi News Live Updates Today: The city’s average Air Quality Index (AQI) in the first 19 days of October is 181.7, which is higher than the average in both 2022 and 2021.

Delhi News Live Updates, 21 October: Like in the past few days, the air quality in the national capital this morning continued to be in the ‘moderate’ category with the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 173. However, few parts of Delhi including Anand Vihar and South Delhi’s New Moti Bagh recorded air quality in the ‘poor’ category. This October in Delhi is turning out to be the most polluted since 2020, data shows, and there is little improvement expected in the coming days.

Three days after being acquitted, Nithari serial killings accused Moninder Singh Pandher walked out of Luksar jail in Greater Noida on Friday. Earlier on Monday, the Allahabad High Court acquitted him and his domestic help, Surendra Koli, in the high-profile 2006 case. The court’s decision came as a result of observing that the prosecution had not sufficiently proved guilt “beyond reasonable doubt” and that the investigation was “botched up”.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first phase of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System on Friday. The PM inaugurated the priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor and flagged off the ‘RapidX train’ connecting Sahibabad and Duhai Depot. On the eve of its inauguration, India’s first regional rapid train was named “Namo Bharat”.
