Actor Shreyas Talpade, 47, suffers heart attack

Golmaal star Shreyas Talpade suffered a heart attack this evening after finishing shooting for Welcome to the Jungle. Reports said the actor underwent angioplasty.

In a nerve-wracking incident, actor Shreyas Talpade suffered a heart attack on Thursday evening in Mumbai. The 47-year-old actor was shooting in Mumbai for Welcome to the Jungle and collapsed after his shoot. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital where he underwent angioplasty.

Talpade complained of uneasiness, returned home, and collapsed. He is currently stable and under observation, a close source to IndiaTV said.

Shreyas Talpase will be next seen in Welcome to the Jungle. The comedy film will also star Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Rahul Dev, Mukesh Tiwari, Sharib Hashmi, Inaamulhaq, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, and Vrihi Kodvara.

Shreyas Talpade, an actor, film director and producer who appears in Hindi and Marathi films. Born in Mumbai, his father is the brother of actresses Meena T and Jayshree T. Shreyas attended Shree Ram Welfare Society’s High School in Andheri West followed by Mithibai College in Vile Parle. He is married to Deepti Talpade, a psychiatrist.

He is better known as the Shah Rukh Khan’s friend Pappu in Om Shanti Om. He has also appeared in the comedy films including Golmaal Returns, Welcome to Sajjanpur, Golmaal 3, Housefull 2 and Golmaal Again. Shreyas Talpade has also dubbed for Allu Arjun’s hindi version of Puspha: The Rise as well. For the unversed, Talpade began his acting career appearing in Marathi soap operas and doing stage shows across Maharashtra. He also appeared in the Zee TV soap opera Woh (1998) in which he was the main lead. He has also acted in mini-serials for the production “Adhikari Brothers”. His role, in a very popular Marathi serial Aabhal Maya, as the character Tejas was very popular among Marathi audiences. He also appeared in Jaane Anjaane (2001) aired on Doordarshan.
