Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha: Public holiday declared on January 22 in several states. Check list
Ram Mandir’s Pran Pratishtha ceremony will take place on January 22 in Ayodhya. Over 7,500 eminent guests have been invited for the big day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform the consecration ceremony inside the sanctum, sanctorum in the Ram Temple.
A public holiday has been declared in several States and Union Territories on Ram Mandir’s ‘Pran Pratishtha’ day on January 22. So far states including Maharashtra, Haryana, and Uttarakhand have declared a public holiday. Union Territories including Puducherry and Chandigarh have also declared an off. States including Kerala, Assam, Odisha, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Tripura have announced a half-day for government offices on January 22.
The central government has already announced that all its offices, institutions and industrial establishments throughout India will have half-day holiday for the Ram temple ‘Pran Patishtha’ (consecration) ceremony.
In addition to this, the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony will be live-streamed at various railway stations across the country so that the people do not miss to witness the historic event.
Ahead of the grand event, the main idol of Ram Lalla was brought inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in the early hours of Thursday, Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee chairperson Nripendra Mishra said.
Earlier on Wednesday, a replica of the main idol was symbolically brought in for ‘Parisar Pravesh’ (entry into the complex) amid the chanting of mantras.
A ‘Kalash Pujan’ was held earlier on Wednesday.
A special puja was held in the sanctum sanctorum before the idol was brought inside with the help of a crane amid chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. According to Mishra, the idol is likely to be installed in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday. The idol was brought to the temple in a truck.
Seven-day rituals are being performed in the run-up to the January 22 ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram temple.
The rituals will continue till January 21 and on the day of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’, minimum essential rituals will be conducted, according to Ram temple trust officials. There are 121 ‘acharyas’ who are conducting the rituals.
The Ram temple ‘Pran Pratishtha’ will begin at 12:20 pm. on January 22 and is expected to end by 1 pm.
