Kerala: Three, including one-year-old child killed, 14 injured after tourist vehicle falls into gorge
The local police and other officials reached the spot and carried out a rescue operation. They took the injured to a local hospital where they underwent treatment.
A tourist vehicle from Tamil Nadu overturned and fell into gorge near Adimali leaving 14 people injured and killing three, including a one-year-old child, said the Kerala Police on Tuesday.
The condition of two of the injured is critical, they added.
An officer from Adimaly police station said there were 14 people in the vehicle and of them three died and around 10 others were injured in the accident.
“The accident occurred around 6 pm and we are still collecting details as to how it happened,” the officer said.
He said that the tourists hailed from Theni in Tamil Nadu and were on their way back after visiting Mankulam here when the tragic incident occurred.
Lorry driver from Tamil Nadu dies in road accident in Kerala
In another road accident in Kerala, a 27-year-old mini-lorry driver from Tamil Nadu died on the national highway near Pattikkad on Tuesday.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 2.30 am when the victim was repairing his vehicle with the help of the driver of another mini-lorry who had stopped to assist him.
While the victim was carrying out the repairs, a truck coming from behind hit the two vehicles parked on the roadside leading to the death of the man from Tamil Nadu, police said.
