Govt’s top priority is to stop cycle of deaths in Rajouri: CM Omar Abdullah
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that government’s top priority is to stop cycle of deaths in Badhal village in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the administration has not yet been able to establish the reason behind 17 mysterious deaths in the village.
Speaking with reporters after visiting the village, chief minister Omar Abdullah said the government’s priority is to stop this cycle of deaths and that it should not go beyond 17.
He said that the day they got the information, health along with other departments has been working to understand the cause behind these deaths. “Tests were done, and we reached the conclusion that there were no bacteria or virus that caused these deaths,” he said.
He added that all these deaths have taken place in three families. “But, we are yet to find the reason behind these deaths. Since it’s not a disease, Police are also involved in it and they have formed a team to investigate the matter. Central government team is also arrived in the village, and together we will look into the reasons behind these deaths,” the chief minister said.
