
Scientist dies in Mohali parking dispute, family demands strict action
The parking issue in Mohali, Chandigarh, has escalated to a shocking level. In a tragic incident in Sector-67, Mohali, a talented scientist from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) lost his life over a parking dispute. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras. Earlier, an advocate was shot dead over a parking disagreement in Phase 3A, Mohali.
In this latest case, the victim has been identified as Abhishek Swarnakar, a native of West Bengal. He had undergone a kidney transplant and was on dialysis. Abhishek was a brilliant scientist, with his research papers published in prestigious scientific journals. He had worked in multiple countries, including the United States, but had recently returned to India due to health concerns.
According to his family, on Tuesday night around 8:30 PM, Abhishek was parking his bike when he got into an argument with his neighbor, Monty. The situation quickly escalated as Monty verbally abused him and then physically assaulted him, punching him multiple times in the stomach. Abhishek collapsed in the street and was unable to get up.
The accused later took Abhishek to Fortis Hospital himself, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The family has demanded strict action against the accused.
SHO Phase-11, Gagandeep Singh, stated that the family’s statements will be recorded, CCTV footage will be reviewed, and after the post-mortem, a case will be registered to ensure appropriate legal action is taken against the accused.
