Kunal Kamra’s lawyer asked for 7 days’ time, says Mumbai Police
As Kunal Kamra refused to apologise for his controversial comment, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday said a decorum should be maintained while taking jibes, otherwise the action causes a reaction.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police has issued a summon to comedian saying ‘an initial probe has been started’
Noting that he does not regret making the comment, Kamra issued a statement on Monday saying ‘your inability to take a joke… does not change my rights.’
What has Eknath Shinde said?
Reacting to Kamra’s statement, Shinde said, “Freedom of speech is there. We understand satire. But there should be a limit. This is like taking ‘supari’ (contract) to speak against someone”
“Otherwise, action causes reaction,” he said.
Kamra sparked a major controversy calling Shinde a “traitor” (Gaddar) during a recent performence in Habitat Studio. The controversial clip went viral on the internet after the political uproar.
