Delhi: ‘Bunty and Babli’ arrested from UP’s Baraut, duo cheated family of nearly Rs 2 cr

The two accused-Babli and Arvind-cheated a family of Rs 1.59 cr on the pretext of getting them a flat in Delhi's Dwarka.

New Delhi: The Delhi Police have arrested a ‘Bunty-Babli’ duo for allegedly cheating a family on the pretext of getting them a flat in Dwarka.

The accused have been identified as 36-year-old Babli Tomar and her paramour Arvind. Babli is a native of Baraut district in Uttar Pradesh.

The crime branch of Delhi Police said Babli’s father used to work in the army. The woman got married in 2003 but divorced her husband a few years later.

Babli met one Arvind and the two fell in love and started living in live-in. Babli had done a beautician course and was providing online service.

In 2019, Babli met an elderly woman while giving salon services. During her conversation, she came to know that her family was planning to buy a flat.

Babli then fixed a meeting between the family and Arvind saying he is a property dealer.

After this, Babli and Arvind defrauded the family of Rs 1.59 cr and went underground. Following a tip-off, the Delhi Police arrested Arvind and Babli from Baraut. Police had declared Rs 20,000 on the duo.
