Fitbit Charge 5 with ECG app, always-on display launched: Price, specifications and more

Fitbit has launched the Fitbit Charge 5, the company’s most advanced fitness tracker. The Fitbit Charge 5 comes with a free subscription to Fitbit premium for six months, which will users gain deeper insights and a range of more than 500 workouts, mindfulness and nutrition sessions. The fitness tracker comes with various and health and fitness tracking features including stress, heart health, sleep and more. The company says that Fitbit charge 5 is thinner than the Fitbit Charge 4 and features a brighter, colour touchscreen display.

Fitbit Charge 5 comes with an on-wrist ECG app and an EDA sensor to track the stress levels of users. The company had first introduced EDA with the Fitbit Sense and found that over 70 per cent of users reduced their heart rate during a two-minute EDA Scan session. The fitness tracker also lets users make a contactless payment, quick reply to messages. However, the quick reply feature is only limited to Android users only. Fitbit Charge 5: Price and availability

The Fitbit Charge 5 has been announced at Rs 14,999 in India. In the US, the fitness tracker is priced at $179.95 (roughly Rs. 13,300), whereas in Europe it will cost users EUR 179.95 (roughly Rs. 15,600). In Australia, the fitness tracker is priced at AUD 269.95 (roughly Rs. 14,500) in Australia. Fitbit Charge 5 is available in multiple colour variants including Graphite/ Black, Platinum/ Steel Blue, and Soft Gold/ Lunar White. The fitness tracker can be pre-booked starting August 25. However, the option is only available in some markets. In India, the Fitbit Charge could arrive towards the end of the year.

Fitbit Charge 5: Specifications
Fitbit Charge 5 comes with a brighter 1.04-inch colour AMOLED touchscreen display. It does not feature any buttons but comes with an Always-on mode. It is made up of aluminium, glass and resin and comes with a silicone band. The company says that the fitness tracker is thinner than its predecessor, Fitbit Charge 5.

Fitbit has included the ECG app in the Fitbit Charge 5. The app was first introduced with the Fitbit sense. Using the ECG app, users can make assessments about their hearts. Charge 5 also tracks your heart rate 24/7 and provides notifications when you are above or below your personal ranges. The fitness tracker also tracks your breathing rate, skin temperature variation and SpO2.

The Fitbit Charge 5 comes with a stress management score in the Fitbit App, which will reveal whether you are mentally ready to take new challenges. With Premium, you get access to more than 300 meditation and mindfulness sessions.

Fitbit Charge 5 is the first fitness tracker to include an EDA sensor to measure your stress levels in the body. The tracker measures your body’s response to stress through tiny changes in the sweat glands on your fingers. These tools can help in reducing stress and help users lead healthy life. As far as the battery is concerned, the company claims that the fitness tracker can go on for seven days on a single charge.
