Akshay Kumar injured on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan sets while shooting action scene with Tiger Shroff, has braces on knees
Akshay Kumar, who is in Scotland, shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was injured on set while shooting for an action sequence.
Akshay Kumar, who is famously known for doing his own stunts in movies, has gotten injured while performing an action scene on the sets of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film stars him with actor Tiger Shroff. The actor was shooting in Scotland when he got injured. The injury, however, is not very serious as the actor is continuing the shoot of the film.
As per a report in Hindustan Times, “Akshay was shooting for an action sequence with Tiger, and it was a particular stunt he was performing when this injury happened. He has braces on his knee right now.” The source further added that the action scenes have been put on hold for the time being but the actor is shooting his close-ups so the Scotland schedule can be wrapped up on time.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is produced by Jackky Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment who had previously said that he wants the film to be India’s answer to the Fast and Furious franchise. “When it comes to Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, I thought, I want to make India’s Hobbs & Shaw, I want to make India’s Fast & Furious – large scale action, with comedy amongst the characters rather than in the plot,” he previously told PTI.
The producer said that he approached Akshay for the film before getting Ali Abbas Zafar on board. “I went to Akshay sir, first, and he loved it. He asked me, ‘Whom will I get on board as Chote Miyan?’ I replied, ‘Tiger,’ and he said, ‘Wonderful.’ Once the actors were on board, I went to Ali Abbas Zafar, who’s one of the biggest directors in the country.”
Director Ali Abbas Zafar, in an earlier conversation with Pinkvilla, had said that the film has nothing to do with the Amitabh Bachchan-Govinda starrer 1998 film but there is a reason as to why the film shares the same title. “It has nothing to do with the old film but there’s a reason why it’s called Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. There is a very interesting twist in the film, which may act as an ode to the old Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” he said.
Also starring Sonakshi Sinha and Prithviraj Sukumaran, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is scheduled to release in December 2023.
