Blade, worms found in food at Hyderabad university hostel, students stage protest

Students of Godavari Hostel at Hyderabad’s Osmania University staged a protest after allegedly finding a blade and worms in their food. The students blocked the university’s main road, demanding that the varsity address their issues.

According to the students, the authorities haven’t taken any action despite them complaining to them repeatedly about the poor quality of food there. This incident occurred on Tuesday night after students found a blade in their meal.

The students alleged that worms and foreign objects were frequently found in their food, but the authorities turned a blind eye to their complaints.

The protesting students raised slogans against the administration, and demanded justice. They alleged that the university was playing with their lives, and wanted the Vice Chancellor to meet them and address their issues.

A protester alleged that another student had previously found glass pieces in the food. He said that whenever they raised the issue, the canteen staff would apologise, saying it would not be repeated, but that wasn’t the case.

The students demanded immediate action to improve the quality of food and threatened to continue their protest until their demands are met.
