Helicopter being airlifted by MI-17 crashes in Kedarnath | VIDEO
The pilgrimage route had been largely suspended in August due to rain-induced landslides, leaving thousands stranded. Rescue efforts are ongoing with assistance from the Air Force’s Chinook and MI-17 helicopters, along with private choppers.
A Crystal helicopter being airlifted by an MI-17 chopper crashed in the hills near Kedarnath, Uttarakhand, this morning. The helicopter, previously damaged during a landing at Kedarnath Dham, slipped from the MI-17 and fell. The incident, captured on camera, has yet to confirm any injuries.
