New Delhi : On Saturday, A man was arrested for allegedly strangling his wife ( 30-year-old ) with a dupatta in Govindpuri (Southeast Delhi ) police said.
As per the police, the demised Jharna and accused Nanda Nayak her husband, used to work as a house help in the CR Park area, shared a strained relationship.
Earlier in 2017, Nayak attacked Jharna, her brother and brother-in-law with a knife. In June he was granted and interim bail and released, since then, has been living in Gurgaon. (As per police)
As per a senior police officer “On Saturday morning , the accused Nayak reached the woman’s house in Govindpuri locality and strangulated her with a duptta. Post which he locked the room and fled”
The woman’s body was recovered from the third floor of the building where she lived. The body was lying on a bed in her apartment.
Multiple police teams were formed and the accused was arrested from the Govindpuri park, the officer said, adding further investigation is underway.
