Delhi shocker! Car rams scooter, drags rider for 350 m on its roof; horrific CCTV footage emerges

In another horrific incident, a speeding car rammed into a scooty and dragged a rider on its roof for about 350 m, resulting in his death, news agency ANI reported on Friday. According to police, the incident happened between Prerna Chowk and Kanhaiya Nagar late at night on January 26, Thursday. It said that there were two people on the scooty and added one person on the pillion fell to the ground and the rider’s head got stuck between the car’s windshield and the bonnet.

Speaking to the news agency, Usha Rangnani, DCP North West said that the rider landed on the roof due to the impact of the collision. “During patrolling between Prerna Chowk and Kanhaiya Nagar late at night, PCR van noticed that a car hit a scooty due to which the person on the pillion fell to the ground and the rider’s head got stuck between the car’s windshield and the bonnet, “said Rangnani.
All five accused arrested
Further, she said that there were five people in the car and added two of them were arrested on the spot while three fled successfully. However, after launching a manhunt, all the accused in the car were arrested, said the SP. According to her, all the accused were in a drunken state including the driver. Also, she asserted that one person is still in the hospital and added a probe is currently underway.
Third such incident in a month
Notably, the incident comes nearly a month after the hit-and-drag case in which a 20-year-old woman was killed in Delhi. During the incident, the victim, Anjali Singh, got stuck under the wheels of a car and was dragged for nearly 13 km, resulting in the death of the 20-year-old. Later, in a similar incident, a man dragged an elderly behind a scooter for about a kilometre on Bengaluru’s Magadi road on January 17. The incident happened when the elderly got out of the car to have a conversation with the scooter driver. The elderly reportedly tried to pull the scooter, but the nervous two-wheeler motorist drove the vehicle amid fear of being scolded.
