Actor Deepika Padukone has received a surprising cheer from Kangana Ranaut. Deepika introduced SS Rajamouli’s Naatu Naatu performance at the 95th Academy Awards — and Kangana could not hold back praising the star.

Deepika introduced the “Naatu Naatu” musical performance by Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj and described the song as a ‘banger’, as dancer took to the stage and lit up the crowd. The performance received a standing ovation.

Kangana took to Twitter and wrote that it is “not easy” to stand at such a prestigious podium, “holding entire nation together.” She tweeted, “How beautiful @deepikapadukone looks, not easy to stand there holding entire nation together, carrying its image, reputation on those delicate shoulders and speaking so graciously and confidently. Deepika stands tall as a testimony to the fact that Indian women are the best ❤️🇮🇳”

Deepika, who introduced the Naatu Naatu performance, had to stop multiple times due to cheers and hoots from the audience as she presented the performance.

RRR song “Naatu Naatu” later won the Oscar for Best Original Song. Composed by MM Keeravani, with lyrics by Chandrabose and vocals by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, the song became massively popular soon after its release in March 2022.

Deepika Padukone was revealed as one of the presenters in the first round of announcements. Other presenters at the prestigious awards include Halle Berry, John Travolta, Harrison Ford, and others. The show is hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel.
