Brother kills man over property dispute in southwest Delhi
In a similar incident, a 35-year-old man was fatally shot by his brother in Bindapur, southwest Delhi, due to an ongoing property dispute. Police apprehended the accused along with three accomplices who aided in the crime.
The authorities were alerted on February 10, when a PCR call reached the Bindapur police station at 10 pm, reporting Dharminder Dalal’s murder behind the caller’s residence in Matiala Village, Uttam Nagar.
“Our team reached the spot and found that the victim, Dharminder Dalal, shot dead at his property in Matiala by his brother, Ravinder,” police said, adding, a property dispute between the two and a monetary dispute over the division of rental income is the alleged motive behind the murder. Both have a rental property business, police said.
“Tension between the brothers escalated when the father favoured one of the siblings, leading to Ravinder’s argument with the brother on Monday, after which he shot him dead and fled,” police said.
The police arrested the victim’s elder brother Ravinder, alongside his associates Satinder, Zahid, and Amneesh. They admitted to the crime during questioning. Authorities registered a case under section 103 (murder).
