Meerut: 4 killed after their CNG car catches fire in Jani area

The police said they filed a case and launched a probe to ascertained the exact reason of the fire incident. They were also trying to identify the identities of the deceased.

In a shocking incident, four people died after their CNG car caught fire in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. They were burnt alive in the Jani Police station area at around 9 pm, said police on Sunday.

“Four people travelling in a car from Delhi were burnt alive in Jani Police station at around 9 pm,” said Superintendent of Police (Rural) Kamlesh Bahadur.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained, he added.

“The car had a CNG kit fitted in it. The cause of the fire is still not clear. Efforts are being made to identify the deceased and to reach out to their families,” said the officer.

13 dead, 15 injured in road accident in Rajgarh
In another incident, at least thirteen persons, including four children, died and 15 were injured after their tractor-trolley overturned at 8pm on Sunday night in Piplodi in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district.

Of the injured, 13 have been admitted in the district hospital while two have been rushed to Bhopal for advanced care due to wounds to the head and chest, Rajgarh Collector Harsh Dikshit said.

The victims were members of a marriage party that had come from Motipura village in neighbouring Rajasthan and was on its way to Kulampur, the official said.
