PM Modi’s big claim in Lok Sabha: ‘Abki baar 400 paar’, BJP will alone cross 370 seats
During his address, PM Modi also targeted the opposition parties and said several leaders were looking to change their seats or come to parliament through the Rajya Sabha. He also said the third term of his government was also not too far.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday made a big claim during his reply to the debate on the ‘Motion of Thanks’ to the President’s address. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister exuded confidence in Bharatiya Janata Paraty (BJP) getting 370 seats and NDA more than 400 in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
“Lord Ram has returned not only home, but to such a grand temple that it is definite that ‘Abki baar 400 paar’ (This time 400 plus). Even Kharge ji (Mallikarjun Kharge) is saying it. Not only will NDA win 400+ seats but BJP itself will win 370 seats,” he said.
The Prime Minister also expressed confidence that the opposition strength will be depleted after the Lok Sabha polls expected to be held in April-May this year. “People are like God and the way you (Opposition) are making efforts, I am convinced that people will bless you and you will move up to the public gallery,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi attacks opposition
Prime Minister Modi launched a scathing attack on opposition parties, particularly the Congress, during his response to the debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s address. Early in his speech, he specifically addressed the opposition, highlighting that numerous leaders were contemplating seat changes or seeking entry to parliament through the Rajya Sabha. “I really commend the resolution of the opposition. From every word of their speech, I and the country are now convinced that they have resolved to sit for a long time in the opposition. The way you sat here (in government) for many decades, the same way you resolve to sit in opposition,” he said.
PM lists his govt’s achievements
PM Modi also listed the achievements of his government in the last 10 years since 2014. He said as many as 4 crore houses for the poor and 80 lakh pucca houses for the urban poor have been built so far during his government. “Had these been built at the speed of Congress…it would have taken 100 years to do this work. Five generations would have passed by then,” the PM said.
Highlighting the significance of the NDA’s potential third term, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that it would be characterised by substantial decisions, setting the groundwork for the next millennium. He strongly criticised the Congress, particularly on the matter of dynastic politics, stating that the party missed a valuable opportunity to function effectively as the opposition.
PM on Opposition and Budget Session
PM Modi also underscored the Budget Session as an opportune moment for constructive suggestions, expressing disappointment that opposition members did not capitalize on this chance, letting go of a valuable opportunity for meaningful contributions. “You have left the country disillusioned. Leaders have changed but the same tune continues,” he said. The opposition could have given some message to the people in an election year, PM Modi said, adding that the Congress was responsible for the present state of the opposition.
