Pushpa 2 premiere in Hyderabad turns tragic: Woman dead, son critical. Here’s what happened

A tragic incident took place during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule in Hyderabad. A stampede like situation occured resulting in the death of a woman and her young son being critically injured, as per reports.

Here’s what happened
The incident occurred late Wednesday night at Sandhya Theatre, where actor Allu Arjun had come to greet fans. According to reports, chaos broke out when fans rushed to see the actor, pushing past people who were exiting the theatre. The victim, Revathi, had attended the premiere screening with her husband and two children. An official told TOI that the woman, accompanied by her husband and two children might have got trapped during the chaos that led to the stampede at RTC X Roads.

Citing a preliminary investigation by the police, a report by PTI stated that heavy crowd rushed ahead and the woman and her son, who were trying to enter inside the theatre, suffocated and fell unconscious apparently after being pushed by the crowd.

There were no arrangements by the theatre management or prior information about the arrival of the actor and other members of the film, police said as reported by PTI.

Police personnel conducted Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on the woman and her son and shifted them to a hospital, where the woman died and her son is undergoing treatment, a senior police official said.
