Uttar Pradesh: 15-year-old died after falling from 15th floor of high-rise building in Noida

A 15-year-old boy died after allegedly falling from his 15th-floor apartment in Noida. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide.

A 15-year-old boy died after he allegedly fell off the balcony of a 15th apartment in a high-rise housing society in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida on Sunday, said police. The incident occurred at the residence of a Class 10 student in Supertech Capetown, Sector-74, Noida. The boy’s family was present at home when the incident happened.

“The teenager died after falling from the 15th floor of Capetown Society under the Sector-113 police station’s area,” an official said.

Police suspect suicide
Police said that they suspect the incident to be a case of suicide. However, no note has been discovered from the 15-year-old’s house. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Harish Chander said the body has been taken for postmortem and local officials are investigating the matter.

The boy had tragically lost his father two years ago during the COVID-19 pandemic, said officials.

Earlier on January 26, a 27-year-old lawyer died after she fell from her apartment on the 15th floor of the same society.

17-year-old boy falls to death
Earlier on September 19, a 17-year-old boy fell to his death from the 18th floor of a high-rise in Greater Noida on Tuesday morning. The class 12th boy Pranav Srivastava died soon as he fell down. The case is of the Gaur Saundaryam Housing Society in Bisrakh police station area of Greater Noida.

After speaking with family members, the police came to know that the deceased’s name was Pranav, and he was 17 years old. He was studying in class 12 and lived at the location with his mother and sister. His father, Dr Aman Srivastava, is a professor at an MBA college in Dubai, while his mother is an advocate. They are originally from Gorakhpur.
