Woman hires boyfriend for Rs 1 lakh to murder husband over ‘extramarital affair’
The Meerut police claimed to have solved the murder mystery after arresting the wife of Mukeet, a resident of Bijnor. His wife Mumtaz allegedly had an affair with another man Faizan.
Meerut: The Jani police in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh claimed to have solved a murder mystery. Police said a woman was behind the murder of her husband who was shot dead on Gangnahar Kanwar Marg.
Mukeet was killed by contract killers allegedly hired by his wife over her ‘extramarital affair’. Police have now arrested four accused including wife of Mukeet. Two accused are still absconding.
The four arrested accused are identified as Mumtaz, Mukeet’s wife and a resident of Bijnor, Aman from Jafrabad in Delhi, Sameer from Welcome area in Delhi and Samad from Jyoti Nagar in Delhi.
Police have also recovered the countrymade pistol used in the crime. On July 31, Mukeet, a resident of Umri village in Bijnor, was shot dead in Gangnahar in Jani by unidentified men.
Mukeet was currently living in Delhi and had a business there. His body was found on August 1. The victim’s brother had filed a case in this regard.
Police had taken Mukeet’s wife Mumtaz into custody on suspicion. She later told police that Muleet used to beat her up. In the meantime, she came in contact with one Faizan, a resident of Jyotinagar in Delhi, and fell in love with him. Later, the duo hatched a conspiracy to kill Mukeeet.
Contract killing for Rs 1 lakh
Mumtaz had given Rs 1 lakh to contract killers arranged by her paramour Faizan. The accused Faizan then told some of his friends to ask Mukeet to book a car to visit Bijnor. After this, friends of Faizan accompanied Mukeet for his Bijnor trip.
According to Mumtaz, Faizan’s friends took a halt at Gangnahar on the pretext of relieving themselves. In the meantime, the accused took out a pistol and shot Mukeet dead and fled the spot.
