Total: ₹ 26.73 cr. #India biz.”
He added, “👍🏻 Mass pockets / single screens are super-strong… National chains are rock-steady too [weekday rates]. 👍🏻 Decline on Mon [vis-à-vis Fri] is mere 24.59%, which is excellent.”
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, which was said to have profited from its unique ticket-selling strategy of one plus one free, valid until Sunday, performed decently at the box-office on Monday without any sales aid.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, set in a small town in India, revolves around a married couple trying to get a fake divorce. The film marked Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan’s first film together and fans can’t have enough of their cute chemistry. It has been able to hold strong despite competition from The Kerala Story and Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse.
In her review of the film, Indian Express’ Shubhra Gupta stated that the film has the potential to relate to the Indian middle class because of its central theme. She wrote, “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’s central conflict is one that makes it instantly relatable to millions of middle-class Indians. When it comes right down to it, young Indore-based couple Kapil (Vicky Kaushal) and Soumya (Sara Ali Khan) have some tough calls to take: will they be able to go through with it?”
